The KHE Affix Mid Bottom Bracket works without using a traditional ball bearing system, but instead uses a self lubricating material that is extremely wear resistant, but more importantly, lightweight. 

Another cool feature of this bushing system is if you're a tail whip guy, you can tighten your cranks down enough to where the cranks won't spin making the catch easier.
